MayaKosha Healing Pathways
TRAUMA THERAPY AND PARENT COACHING
Therapy can be an empowering experience to overcome hardship or abuse and provides opportunities for advocacy, supports recovery, increases resilience, and promotes healing by reducing stress in individuals' neurobiology, reconnecting in the socio-emotional space and drawing upon person spiritual or resilience systems. Connection to self, place, persons and communities are an important part of wellbeing and therefore services are individually tailored to meet the needs.
MayaKosha Healing offers generalist or trauma-informed and trauma- specific therapy to reduce the impacts of abuse, trauma and oppression on individuals and families. Service offerings include an integration of traditional and creative therapies founded on models including attachment and DDP, neurobiology of trauma, strengths, client-centred and family systems. Alys can also provide therapeutic life story work and parent/carer coaching. Parent coaching assists parents, Guardians and carers to provide responsive care when faced with children's distress, caring needs and systems requirements. Children are not seen in isolation to the care providers where trauma therapy is being engaged in.
Currently individual therapy is available for people of ages 14. For child therapy referrals please email admin@immrama.com.au

YOGA THERAPY (EMBODIED HEALING)
Yoga therapy is a gentle healing modality which is anchored in the Vyuham model of assessment and intervention. It interweaves the ancient science of yoga with trauma specific therapy frameworks to offer embodied recovery. Yoga therapy sessions are tailored to the individual's goals, needs, health and fitness factors (no prior yoga experience is required).
MayaKosha Healing offers these specialty sessions to promote wellbeing for those experiencing: court processes, burnout or compassion fatigue, blocked care and post trauma/ abuse recovery. Sessions draw upon the eight limbs of yoga and the biomedical model utilising tools such as yoga asana, breath work, meditation & mindfulness, grounding, hygoshi- massage, lifestyle changes, sensorimotor psychotherapy, psychoeducation, talk therapy and at times attachment-based gentle movement. This holistic approach to recovery assists with bottom-up processing and regulation to benefit the mind-body connection.
Note: Sensory healing components can also promoted through the use of oracle cards, aura soma, room sprays, essential oils, candles, blankets, bolsters, pillows and more. Sessions can be for individuals, dyads, families or groups. General yoga and meditation classes are also available upon request. Specialty are also available so please join the mailing list to receive updates.

IMMRAMA
URBAN RETREATS
MayaKosha Healing offers Urban Retreats!
Perfect for celebrations, time with friends, or as a team wellness experience.
These retreats are for those of you who just need to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, or for teams that need a nurturing space to support critically reflective practices and wellbeing for practitioners in the industry of trauma. These 2-3 hour circles offer a sacred space for reflection, reconnection, rejuvenation and relaxation.
Immrama is an Ancient Celtic term meaning Wonder Voyage or Soul Journey. It is a person's spiritual pilgrimage back to ones divine self.' Immrama voyages traditionally included a crossing of the deep waters, where a person didn't necessarily know where they were headed, only that they were oriented towards somewhere their soul needed to go. In yoga, the divine self is also referred to as the true self and is made up of joy, balance, harmony, peacefulness and love. The water symbol is one that captures emotions, flexibility and flow. Therefore, these two ancient healing philosophies seemed fitting to combine to provide everyone with an opportunity to reconnect to the self through a gentle voyage from tension to relaxation and balance.
Using the neurobiology of relaxation and repair you can obtain direct experience of the relaxation response, learn about self care, or enjoy yoga, meditation and somatic recovery tools so you can leave with an experience of harmony.
